Blue Lake National Park

Posted in Local Area @ Jan 16th 2012 6:41pm - By Administrator

Visit Whale Watch Resort Stradbroke accommodation and you'll find a special area to explore on North Stradbroke Island called Blue Lake National Park.

Take a day trip to the Blue Lake which is known as a window lake and is just under 10 metres deep when full and a great spot to take a refreshing dip. You'll also find the Tortoise Lagoon in the national park which is a small perched lake that is 1.4 metres deep.

Take a walk on the 6km (return) track to the lake through wallum woodlands, flowering heath and stunted eucalypts. You'll find some perfect panoramic photo opportunities with an abundance of wildlife surrounding the park. Walk to Neembeeba lookout for views over the southern part of the island, the Pacific Ocean and the Gold Coast.
